We have two main seasons: rainy season starting December-March and dry season from March – November. Any ways the weather is very unpredictable so it is always useful to have a rain jacket.
Can I stay few days before or after the retreat?
Yes, you can stay longer than the retreat but please arrange your accommodation directly with Melissa Wasi if you want to stay here. You can contact at email@example.com
If you want to stay in Pisaq town you can try with Pisaq Hotel firstname.lastname@example.org or check the website pisachotel.com
I have a special diet, can I still come?
Yes, just let us know in advance your dietary restrictions and we will help you.
I take medication, is this ok with the ceremonies?
Some kind of medication is not a problem and others are (like antidepressant medication). So just tell us about your medication and we will help you.
How far is MachuPicchu from there and how to get there from the retreat center?
The shortest way to Machu Picchu from here is going through the town of Ollantaytambo. You get there by taxi (around 35 US$) and take the train (if you buy your tickets on the internet, choose the option “Sacred Valley-MachuPicchu”) that will take you to MP.
From Pisaq to Ollantaytambo is an hour and a half ride (taxi) and from Ollantaytambo to MP is 3hours (train)
I have never been at that high altitude. How likely is it to get altitude sickness?
Pisaq (2,850m) is a bit lower than Cusco (3,400m) and it is not likely to get altitude sickness. if it happens it is usually mild and can be easily treated with some rest and coca tea which will be offered upon arrival.
Do you have private accommodation options?
The retreat is in double occupancy but you can ask for availability on private rooming. This will depend on the number of participants and availability with an extra cost for the week.
Can I do more ceremonies than the ones offered in the retreat?
Yes. If you have chosen to stay longer before or after the retreat, you can join the open ceremonies that are offered usually on Fridays and Mondays. The dates are posted in the web site and the information in this link Upcoming Ayahuasca ceremonies.
